COLUMBIA, S.C. — Officials say a Learjet has crashed while departing from a Columbia, S.C., airport, killing four people on board and injuring Travis Barker, a former drummer for Blink-182, and DJ AM, a famed Hollywood DJ.

Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen says the plane carrying six people was departing shortly before midnight Friday when air traffic controllers reporting seeing sparks. She says the plane went off the runway and crashed on a nearby road.

Bergen says the Lear 60 was headed to Van Nuys, Calif.

She didn’t have the names of those killed and didn’t know the conditions of the two people

  1. I just saw on the news that Travis Barker was taken by ambulance to the Burn Center, and DJ AM was flown via Helicopter to the Burn Center. Both are listed in critical condition, but the fact that DJ AM was flown to the Burn Center makes me think he is worst off.

Also, I heard that there were 4 other people on the plane which all died. Two pilots and two other passengers. They are 3 men and 1 women. I am wondering who these people could be? I am hoping the woman is not Shanna Mokler!

    Jeezus. That is terrible news.
